How we make this website usable for everyone, and how to tell us if it isn't.

We want everyone to be able to use the LocalQuiver website, whatever device or assistive technology they use.

Our aim

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What we've done

  • Films have captions, and every film has a full written transcript.
  • Moving previews can be paused, and they don't play at all if you've asked your device to reduce motion. The same setting calms the site's other animations.
  • Navigation: you can use the whole site with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
  • Charts have a text description and a table behind them for screen readers.
  • Images have text alternatives, and we check text against its background for contrast.

Known limitations

  • Our films don't yet have audio description. The narration covers most of what's on screen, and the transcript has every word.
  • Some older films have on-screen text that the narration doesn't read out. Each film's page has its full transcript.

Tell us if something doesn't work

If you find a part of the site hard to use, or need something in a different format, email hello@localquiver.co.uk. We'll reply within five working days.

This statement was prepared on 8 October 2026.

Tell us what you were trying to do and we'll fix it, or send you what you need in another format.
