Competitor tracking for pubs and bars
Every village and high street has more than one place for a pint. Competitor tracking puts your pub side by side with the rivals you pick from Google, re-checked each month, so you can see who is winning the reviews, who replies, and where you’re already ahead.

How it works for pubs and bars
Pick the pubs that matter
Add the rivals you actually lose customers to by choosing their Google listing, whether that’s the gastropub in the next village or the chain bar on the high street. Each one is then re-checked every month without you lifting a finger.
Six things, side by side
See each pub’s Google rating and review count, new reviews a month, how often they reply, praise and complaints from recent reviews, whether AI assistants name them for the same questions, and where they sit on the map.
What guests praise next door
Recent reviews for each rival are summed up into what people love and what they moan about. If their Sunday roast gets raves and yours rarely gets a mention, that’s worth knowing before you plan the next menu.
A watchlist that builds over time
After two months of data, a watchlist shows where rivals are pulling ahead or slipping, next to a review-count race that keeps the gap honest. It’s a clear monthly picture rather than a stream of live alerts.
You’re top 3 for “pub near me” across the centre of Newark. A few fresh reviews will push you out to the walking routes.
Three late bars on one high street
What the bar opposite was doing differently
Callum runs Lowther’s, a cocktail bar on a high street with two other late-night spots, and he added both through their Google listings. A couple of months in, the head-to-head showed one rival replying to almost every review and picking up new ones faster, while guests kept praising Lowther’s cocktails but rarely mentioned the staff. He switched on the Review Agent, put tap cards on the bar, and kept an eye on the next monthly check.
An illustration of how it works, not a real customer.
The film
Three self-contained chapters: a monthly Google Maps scan from a grid of points around the business, a monthly check of whether ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity name it, and a monthly head-to-head with the local rivals it picks. It works the same way for pubs and bars.

0:01Where you show up on Google Maps depends on where your customer is standing.
0:06So once a month, we run your key search from a grid of points around your business, as if a customer were standing at each one.
0:13You see where you're top three, where you don't appear at all, who beats you at each point, and two or three plain-English things to do next.
0:24Customers can now ask AI assistants where to go, too.
0:28Once a month, we put up to four of your customers' questions to ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, each answering from live web results.
0:37You see whether you're named, how high, and who's named instead. Nobody can buy a recommendation, but now you'll know where you stand.
0:48And how do you stack up against your local rivals?
0:52Pick them from Google, and every month we check their rating and review count, new reviews, how often they reply, what customers praise and complain about, their AI visibility and map position.
1:04Then it's all set beside yours, head to head, so you can see where you're ahead, and where they're pulling away.
1:12LocalQuiver. Your marketing, sorted.

More for pubs and bars
No. Competitor tracking looks at public Google data only: rating, reviews, replies, what reviewers say, AI visibility and map position. It doesn’t look at anyone’s ads, website traffic or social accounts, and it never contacts the other pub.
No, there are no live alerts. Each rival is re-checked once a month and the comparison updates then. For most pubs, a monthly view is plenty to spot a trend without checking your phone between pulling pints.
Use the gaps to choose what to work on. If rivals reply more, the Review Agent can help. If they’re gaining reviews faster, our tap cards and review requests make asking easier. The tracking measures; it doesn’t change your ranking by itself.
