Digital loyalty cards for pubs and bars

The difference between a busy pub and a quiet one is often the regulars. LocalQuiver gives your guests a stamp or points card in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, with no app and no account, scanned at the bar and rewarded with whatever suits your pub.

How it works for pubs and bars

01

Joining takes one scan

A QR poster by the bar opens your branded join page. Guests add a name, plus an email or phone number if you ask for one, and the card drops into their wallet. Anyone who shares contact details gets their card link sent too.

02

Rewards that suit a pub

Run a stamp card of between 2 and 12 stamps, or a points card with a rewards menu. A free pudding after so many Sunday lunches, or a bowl of chips for the quiz team: the reward is yours to choose.

03

Fast at a busy bar

Staff scan the card’s QR code with any phone or tablet camera, or look a member up by name or phone. They use a PIN-protected staff link with no login, and a mis-scan can be undone within 15 minutes.

04

A nudge for lapsed regulars

Send an offer to members who ticked the offers box, as a wallet notification on their phone. Pick a group, such as lapsed members or those with a reward ready, with sensible limits built in so nobody gets pestered.

Sunday lunches at The Kestrel & Plough

A stamp card that brings the roast crowd back

Rob noticed the same families coming in for Sunday lunch at The Kestrel & Plough once, then drifting off to the carvery on the bypass. He set up a stamp card in his colours with a free pudding as the reward and put the join poster by the bar. Staff scan cards on the bar tablet as people pay. When members have a reward waiting, Rob can send a gentle wallet message to that group before the weekend.

An illustration of how it works, not a real customer.

The film

Stamp or points cards in Apple and Google Wallet: customers join from the counter-poster QR with no app, staff stamp by scanning with any phone camera, and updates, offers and a nearby prompt arrive on the lock screen. It works the same way for pubs and bars.

Questions

No. The card lives in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, which are already on their phones, and there’s no account to create. They scan the poster, add their name and save the card, and it’s ready to stamp on their very next round.

On iPhone, the card can show a “you’re nearby” prompt on the lock screen when a member is close to your pub, for up to 10 locations. On Android, Google shows a more general prompt instead, so the nudge is lighter there.

It runs alongside your till rather than inside it. Staff scan the card with a phone, a tablet or a USB or Bluetooth scanner on the staff link. There’s no connection to your EPOS, so stamps are added by your team, not by the till itself.
