How it works for cafés
Built on your own Shopify store
Your Shopify store, even on the Basic plan, runs products, stock, orders, delivery, tax and payment. We connect it by pasting in your .myshopify.com address, with no keys to find and no developer needed.
In your café’s look, not Shopify’s
A Shop page and a page for each product appear in the same design as the rest of your site. The basket follows people as they look at your menu and hours, then checkout opens in a new tab.
Beans, gift cards, mugs and more
Show up to 250 products, or just one collection, like your Christmas gifts. Products refresh every few minutes, and price and stock are checked again at checkout, so a sold-out bag of single origin is caught before payment.
Money between you and Shopify
Shopify’s secure checkout takes the payment, and the money never passes through us. The shop has its own Show on Google switch, so it can stay hidden until the photos and prices are just right.
The run-up to Christmas at Fernside Coffee House
The house blend on sale, without a second website
Nadia already sold bags of Fernside’s house blend at the counter and had a small Shopify store that nobody could find. We pasted in its address, and her beans, enamel mugs and gift cards appeared on a Shop page in the café’s own green and cream. In December, a regular’s daughter in Leeds bought a bag and a gift card for her dad. Checkout opened in Shopify, the order landed in Nadia’s Shopify, and Ross posted it on the Monday.

The film
With your own Shopify store, your products show on your LocalQuiver website in its own design, the basket follows visitors round the site, and Shopify’s secure checkout opens in a new tab, set up by pasting your .myshopify.com address. It works the same way for cafés.

More for cafés
Yes. The shop runs on your own Shopify store, and the Basic plan is enough. Shopify handles stock, orders, delivery, tax and payment. We don’t provide Shopify and we don’t take payments, so you keep a direct line to your money and your customers.
Checkout opens on Shopify’s secure checkout in a new tab, not on your café’s own domain, unless you’ve set up a Shopify subdomain for it. Everything before that, from browsing to the basket, happens on your website in your design.
The shop is a page on the websites we build, using our Hospitality New template, so it can’t be bolted onto a site hosted somewhere else. If your current site lives elsewhere, the shop comes with moving to a website we build for you.
