Staff leaderboard for cafés
Regulars write about the person who knows their order before they reach the counter. The staff leaderboard gives every barista their own review link and QR code, counts the reviews that name them, and puts it all on one board your team can enjoy checking between the morning rush and the lunch crowd.

How it works for cafés
A tap card on every apron
Clip one of our tap cards or a printed QR to each barista’s apron or name badge. When a regular taps it, the visit goes to that barista, and the phone opens your normal review page, exactly as it would from the code on the counter.
Nicknames from the regulars count
Regulars rarely write a full name. Add the short forms they use, such as Bex for Rebecca or Jonno for Jonathan, and any review naming them counts. One-word names need their capital letter, so a review saying “we will return” never counts for Will.
Fair play on the board
Each visitor counts once per period, so a barista tapping their own card on a quiet afternoon won’t move anything. The board ranks by whichever column you click, from visits to average rating, with a top-three podium for the week or month.
Kind words worth reading out
Each barista’s page collects the reviews that mention them. Read them out while you wipe down at close, pin the live board in the team chat, or print it for the back of the kitchen door, and let a little friendly competition do the rest.
Lovely staff and honestly the best cardamom bun in Newark.
Half term at Quaywick Coffee
Three baristas and a podium on the fridge
Quaywick Coffee is a narrow shop on the harbour front, run by Freya with three baristas. Plenty of reviews praised the team, but she had never stopped to count who was named. She added Alfie, Dom and Margaret, with Mags as Margaret’s nickname, and clipped a tap card to each apron. Over half term, the board showed Mags named most often, usually for remembering the dogs’ names. Freya printed the podium for the fridge door, and Alfie has already asked for a rematch.

The film
How the staff leaderboard gives everyone on the team their own review link and QR code, credits reviews that mention them by name, and ranks the team by visits, review clicks, reviews and conversion, with an optional public board. It works the same way for cafés.

Questions
It works for any size of team. Even if you never hand out a single link, the board still ranks everyone by the reviews that name them, so you see who your regulars talk about without changing a thing behind the counter.
Reviews mentioning Sam count for both of them, because a name shared by two people counts for each. If regulars already call one of them Sammy, add that nickname, and reviews using it will land with the right person.
It’s meant to stay light-hearted, a way to spot who regulars mention and to celebrate it. Every customer gets the same review page whichever card they tap, and nobody is asked to chase reviews; the board simply shows what customers chose to write.
