Google Maps rank tracking for cafés
Search coffee shop near me by the station and you’ll get a different map than by the park. Once a month, we run your chosen search from a grid of points around your café, so you can see where you appear, where you don’t and who is getting the walk-in instead.

You own the market square: top 3 across the centre of Newark. A few fresh reviews will push you out to the ring roads.
How it works for cafés
The search that brings the queue
Choose one phrase, like coffee shop or brunch. It runs from 25 points around you, 1 km apart by default, and we can tighten the grid if most of your trade comes from a few busy streets.
A pin for every point
Each pin is coloured by where you came. You also get your average and best position, how many points have you in the top three or top ten, and where you don’t show at all.
Who wins where you don’t
At any point, see which cafés outrank you, plus a table of the ones that come up most. It might be the chain by the station, or the new place round the corner that everyone is reviewing.
Two or three things to do
Each monthly scan comes with a short, plain-English read and two or three suggestions, with the trend against last month. Past maps are kept, so you can see how the picture changes through the seasons.
The 1st of the month at Thimble Coffee
Top three at the station, invisible by the park
Hollie assumed everyone near Thimble Coffee could find her. The first scan for coffee shop near me showed strong pins around the station and the school, then nothing on the far side of the park, where a chain café took most points. The plain-English read suggested asking more regulars for reviews and filling out her Google description. She switched on review requests for loyalty members that week, and the next scan will sit ready to compare on the 1st.
An illustration of how it works, not a real customer.
The film
Three self-contained chapters: a monthly Google Maps scan from a grid of points around the business, a monthly check of whether ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity name it, and a monthly head-to-head with the local rivals it picks. It works the same way for cafés.

0:01Where you show up on Google Maps depends on where your customer is standing.
0:06So once a month, we run your key search from a grid of points around your business, as if a customer were standing at each one.
0:13You see where you're top three, where you don't appear at all, who beats you at each point, and two or three plain-English things to do next.
0:24Customers can now ask AI assistants where to go, too.
0:28Once a month, we put up to four of your customers' questions to ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, each answering from live web results.
0:37You see whether you're named, how high, and who's named instead. Nobody can buy a recommendation, but now you'll know where you stand.
0:48And how do you stack up against your local rivals?
0:52Pick them from Google, and every month we check their rating and review count, new reviews, how often they reply, what customers praise and complain about, their AI visibility and map position.
1:04Then it's all set beside yours, head to head, so you can see where you're ahead, and where they're pulling away.
1:12LocalQuiver. Your marketing, sorted.

More for cafés
Google Maps results change with where the searcher is standing, which is why your own phone isn’t a fair test from behind the counter. The grid runs the same search from points across your area, so you see roughly what customers see.
The one that matters most to your trade, often something like coffee shop near me, brunch or breakfast. The map follows one phrase at a time, so we’ll help you choose. Each blog article’s own Google position is checked separately.
It gives you a short plain-English read with two or three suggestions each month, based on where you’re missing and who beats you there. It can’t move you up by itself, but it shows whether reviews, your profile and articles are making a difference over time.
