AI visibility for restaurants

Some diners now ask an AI assistant where to eat, especially when they’re away from home. Once a month, we ask ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity the questions your guests would, like the best place nearby for a birthday dinner, and show you who gets named, in what order.

How it works for restaurants

01

Questions real diners ask

Set up to four questions, such as the best romantic restaurant for Valentine’s or somewhere good for a gluten-free lunch. Each one is put to ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, and each answers from live web results.

02

A score you can follow

Your score is the share of answers that named you. You see which assistants mentioned you, how high up, and how that changes from month to month as your reviews and articles build.

03

Who gets named instead

Every business named in the answers is pulled out in order, so you can see which rivals keep coming up, whether that’s the new place on the corner or the chain by the retail park.

04

What to do about it

Each month comes with a short note on what it means and two or three practical actions. Nobody can buy a recommendation from an AI assistant, but clear, consistent information about you across the web gives them more to go on.

Valentine’s week at Casa Ferro

What the assistants said about a romantic dinner

Sofia wondered whether Casa Ferro came up when couples asked AI assistants for somewhere romantic, so one of her four questions was the best romantic restaurant nearby. In February’s check, Perplexity named Casa Ferro second, Gemini didn’t mention it, and ChatGPT listed a hotel restaurant and a steakhouse first. The note suggested making the candlelit back room and the Valentine’s set menu clearer on the website and Google profile. She did both before the next check.

The film

Three self-contained chapters: a monthly Google Maps scan from a grid of points around the business, a monthly check of whether ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity name it, and a monthly head-to-head with the local rivals it picks. It works the same way for restaurants.

0:01Where you show up on Google Maps depends on where your customer is standing.

0:06So once a month, we run your key search from a grid of points around your business, as if a customer were standing at each one.

0:13You see where you're top three, where you don't appear at all, who beats you at each point, and two or three plain-English things to do next.

0:24Customers can now ask AI assistants where to go, too.

0:28Once a month, we put up to four of your customers' questions to ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, each answering from live web results.

0:37You see whether you're named, how high, and who's named instead. Nobody can buy a recommendation, but now you'll know where you stand.

0:48And how do you stack up against your local rivals?

0:52Pick them from Google, and every month we check their rating and review count, new reviews, how often they reply, what customers praise and complain about, their AI visibility and map position.

1:04Then it's all set beside yours, head to head, so you can see where you're ahead, and where they're pulling away.

Questions

No one can make that happen, whatever they claim. What we can do is show you honestly where you stand each month and point to the things worth working on, like consistent details, recent reviews and helpful pages about what you serve.

Not exactly. We ask ChatGPT’s model with web search, along with Gemini and Perplexity, each answering from live web results. It’s a fair, repeatable snapshot of what an assistant says, rather than a copy of any one person’s screen.

Once a month, with every result kept so you can see the history. Your score sits alongside your map ranking in the monthly report, waiting in your dashboard, so you can see both together.
