Staff leaderboard for plumbers

After a boiler’s fixed on a freezing January morning, customers write about the person who turned up, not the company name on the van. Give every engineer their own review link and QR, and the staff leaderboard shows whose name comes up most in your Google and Checkatrade reviews.

How it works for plumbers

01

A QR on the job sheet

Print each engineer’s QR on the job sheet they leave behind, put it on a sticker on their van, or have them text their link once the heating’s back on. Any scan or click counts as a visit for them, then opens your normal review page.

02

When the review says Dave

Customers rarely mention the firm and often mention the engineer. Add each person with the names customers use, like Dave for David or Tommo for Tom, and every Google, Facebook or Checkatrade review that names them counts towards their total.

03

Fair for the whole team

Each visitor counts once per period, so a second scan from the same customer, or an engineer testing their own card, won’t move the board. Rank by visits, review clicks or reviews for this month, last month or the last 90 days.

04

Something to talk about on Monday

Each engineer’s page shows the reviews that mention them, so the Monday toolbox talk can start with what customers liked: dust sheets down, a clear explanation, nothing left behind. Newer engineers learn what good looks like from real customers.

Boiler fixed the same day. Tidy, friendly and fairly priced.

Reply · in your toneThanks, Chris! Glad we got the heating back on before the cold snap. Posted to Google

A cold snap at Marlbeck Plumbing & Heating

Five engineers, five cards and a Monday podium

Marlbeck Plumbing & Heating covers boiler breakdowns and bathroom refits with five engineers. Gemma runs the office and kept noticing the same first names in Google and Checkatrade reviews, but never had time to count them. She added the team to the staff leaderboard, with Robbo for Robert, and printed each engineer’s QR on the job sheets they leave with customers. Through a cold snap in November, the board showed Robbo named most often, usually for turning up the same evening. Gemma put the podium up at Monday’s toolbox talk.

The film

How the staff leaderboard gives everyone on the team their own review link and QR code, credits reviews that mention them by name, and ranks the team by visits, review clicks, reviews and conversion, with an optional public board. It works the same way for plumbers.

0:02Your team asks for reviews every day. But you can't see who's actually bringing them in.

0:08So add your team, with a photo and the nicknames customers really use, like Sammy for Sam.

0:14Everyone gets their own review link and QR code, for a name badge, or one of our tap cards.

0:20Every scan, tap or click counts for them, then opens your usual review page, the same for every customer.

0:28And when a review mentions them by name, on any connected review site, it's credited to them too.

0:34The leaderboard shows visits, review clicks, reviews and conversion, for any period, with a podium for the top three.

0:42You can even switch on a live public leaderboard, in your own branding, for the staff-room screen or the team chat.

0:49See who's winning you reviews, give them a shout-out, and enjoy a little friendly competition.

Questions

No, and it doesn’t try to. It counts scans of each engineer’s own link and the reviews that mention them by name. Treat it as a friendly picture of who customers are talking about, rather than a record of who attended which job.

Yes, as long as your Checkatrade page is connected. The board counts mentions from every connected review site, so Google, Checkatrade, Facebook and Trustpilot reviews that name an engineer all add up on the same board.

They keep working. Archive the engineer to take them off the board while their link still counts for them, or delete them, and their QR becomes an ordinary code on your Review Link page. Either way, a customer scanning an old card still reaches your review page.
